In addition to child support, work related daycare and payment for medical treatment is administered by the Friend of the Court.  With regards to work related daycare, this factor and expense is to be allocated between the parties, either upon agreement or after trial, if 1) is related to the work of the parties seeking payment and 2) it is incurred prior to a child finishing the school year, in which the child turns 12 years of age.

To the extent that work related daycare is an expense to be split by the parties, this expense is split by a pro rata income formula, that is if one party earns 2/3 of the income and the other party earns 1/3 of the combined income of the parties, the payment of work related daycare will be split by those percentages.

In addition to work related daycare, medical expenditures after the expense by the party that has the primary residence by the child, spends $357/child, is then split by the same percentages as are used in the calculation of work related daycare.  These expenses are submitted by each of the parties to the other party for reimbursement and if that cannot be accomplished with agreement, then the party requesting money can seek to have that money paid through the Friend of the Court.  With regards to work related daycare, this money is taken from the party paying child support and work related daycare through the Michigan State Disbursement Unit, just as child support is obtained.
